Smiling Sammy Frost

May 14, 2005 – August 22, 2020

Sammy Frost passed away on August 22, 2020 at Arlington Pet Hospital after suffering from a heart murmur/congestive heart failure.

Sammy was born in Searcy AR and was the largest of a litter of 12 Samoyeds.  He was nicknamed Samson, but he became my Sammy.  He was a wild puppy who loved to play and eat towels and escape seat belts and collars.  He had the strength of many dogs and took me on walks rather than me taking him on walks.  He liked the Samoyed ladies and always loved to see Chelsea and Emma, 2 Samoyed neighbors.  He loved “pet time” which happened each morning at wake-up time and after work. In dog training, he learned how to give kisses instead of bites and I often told him he gave the best puppy kisses in the world. He also was successful in making me think there was an intruder when he escaped his kennel due to fireworks and knocked down curtains.

He traveled everywhere with me and I always loved to see the stares of people seeing the huge dog riding in the car with his face directly beside mine.  He never liked Kelly Clarkson but did like a little rap and hip hop from time to time.  He was my protector and he was completely spoiled rotten.  Nothing was ever too good for my Sammy.  He loved Ozarka water and he received fresh chicken almost every day.  He loved bones and jerky treats.  On special occasions, he received KFC or Kroger chicken without skin.

As our family grew to include David and Erika, he took on the role of ensuring there was absolutely no rowdiness.

Over his 15 years, he was my heart and my baby dog.  He was perfect in my sight and seemed to understand whatever I said.  We had a connection between our hearts, and he had a love of talking to include a lot of barking.  No matter what my day was like, he made me smile and I could not wait to get home to see my Sammy.

Sammy was preceded in death by his uncle Snooky Miller Frost (Bubba) and by his sister Sophie Sunshine Odle.  Sammy is survived by his Mom and Dad (Amy and David) and his brothers and sisters (Elijah Odle, Sydney Snowbear Odle “Lil Bit” Erika Odle, and Sadie Kingston Odle).  He is also survived by his Nanny and Papaw (Robert and Brenda Frost).

Our hearts are broken with his loss but know he is now free from pain and running and playing in heaven. I am so very blessed for every moment I had with my Sammy dog. I loved my Sammy with all my heart, and I will forever miss my best friend and my baby dog Sammy.  Life will never be the same but I am so much better for being able to be his person.
