Maggie Burrows

d. June 16, 2022

I had told myself that my dog, Jack, had sent Maggie to me on a mission.  Maggie was 7 weeks old and came from the Senatobia Tate County Animal Shelter.  When I brought her home, my friend, Natalie Lee, helped me name the 7 week-old puppy .  Natalie said, "Why don’t you name her Magnolia, because she came from Mississippi, but call her Maggie for short?"  I liked that!  Maggie came home to my friend Lauren's house where I was keeping her dog, Betty, at the time.  My sweet puppy, Maggie, loved Betty and liked chewing Betty’s ear.  For Maggie, nighttime was more like a time to play then to sleep . When Maggie was 10 weeks old, we started obedience class. Maggie had a dog friend named, Dallas, in the class . At 12 weeks old, Maggie and I started agility class with Elaine Coupe where Maggie and I learned a lot . At 2 or 3 years old, Maggie and I did her first USDAA AGILITY where I came home from the show with Ribbons.  Maggie and I did lots of AKC shows where Maggie brought home lots of Ribbons.  In 2021, I retired Maggie from Agility because I got Dash and started working with him, but would still take Maggie out on my Agility field to play for fun.  In May 2022 Maggie became sick with a urine track infection.  In June 2022, I took Maggie to Dr. Lauren Wiltshire to see what was going on.  It turned out that Maggie had bladder cancer and it was fast growing.  My good friend, Sheree Hoffmann, gave me the best gift of all; when I had Maggie put down on June 16th,  2022,  my friend sent money for Maggie to be cremated, so now I have her with me for ever.

Run free of pain Maggie, and be with Ranger and Travis.
