Frank Grider

d. October 25, 2018

My wife and I adopted Frank from the Humane Society in 2004 when he was a pup. He lived with us for over fourteen years. He was a big-hearted dog, curious, joyful, tender. At age two he became a licensed pet therapy dog, visiting children and elders in hospitals and nursing homes. Later he trained to sniff out people’s missing cats. We formed a company called “Lost Cat Finders of Memphis,” and were featured on the Channel Five Action News.

What we’ll remember most about Frank was his courage and tenderness. At the dog park, if a fight broke out, Frank would run into the middle and break it up. He never attacked, just stood peacefully like a Buddha. He hosted scores of foster dogs living in our home, helping to socialize them until they found permanent owners.

In late October we knew it was time to put Frank down. His shaky balance and failed energy made his life too difficult for such a worthy dog. Peebles Pet Services Director. Bill Hendry, gave us his full attention and sympathy, as did his wonderful staff along with their dog, "Lady."

Thanks to everyone who participated in the life of this wonderful dog. We will miss him.

Thanks,

George Grider
