Smokey Neyland Organ

d. May 22, 2017

Smokey Neyland Organ, 12 years old, of Bartlett, TN passed away quietly May 22, 2017 in his sleep on his favorite bed, in his much loved spot in front of the home office window. He suffered from Cushing’s Disease and more than likely passed due to liver failure. He was so much more than a pet; he was our son, our brother, our grandpup, our friend, and the most loyal, loving companion we could have ever asked for. He had a way of making each of us feel special, like we were his favorite. Whether it was his wagging tail and whining cry that welcomed you at the door or the way he would toss his babies (stuffed animals) into the air because he wanted you to play.

Our family rescued him when he was about 3 months old from a shelter in Corinth, MS during October 2004. He quickly stole our hearts with his playful charm and loveable bark/howl. We celebrated his birthday every July 4th and he was the only dog we have ever seen that loved to watch fireworks. Christmas will be difficult too because he loved to open presents just as much as his sisters. He loved all kinds of food but pizza crusts were his favorite! He did suffer with severe allergies for years, but Dr. Ambrose with Hillcrest Animal Hospital was the only vet who was able to treat him so that he could live an itch-free life. He leaves behind his father, Bobby and his mother, Traci; his sisters, Shelby and Haley; both sets of loving grandparents – Jimmy & Judy and Fred & Donna.

He was special, constant, loyal and true. We miss him every day. Our hearts will always wear the pawprints left by him. He was the best puppy ever and we told him so every day!
