Henry Curbow

d. July 28, 2019

Henry came into our life on a beautiful Easter Sunday morning in 2001 when he wandered into my grandmother’s yard. (My grandmother lived in rural Mississippi at the time).  Henry was a pitiful sight; he was covered in fleas and ticks, having been wondering in the woods for some time.

My mother and I went to every house on the county road where my Grandmother lived trying to find his owner, but no one claimed him. So we brought him back to Memphis with us. We took him to our vet and we decided to keep him. The vet said that he was about one and a half years old. The  vet gave him his shots and also a bath. We took him home and fed him good food and he fattened up and developed a shiny coat. He became a very loving part of our family. He kept my elderly mother company during the day while I was at work. I looked forward to coming home from work each day. He would meet me at the front door and he was so excited to see me. He was all wagging tail and wiggles. When I picked him up, he would give me lots of dog kisses.

He lived until he was 19 and a half years old, which is very old for a dog. We wish that we could have kept him longer and we will always miss him.
