Our little Hazel passed away December 28, 2023. She will be met at the Rainbow Bridge by her brothers, Tucker Ray, Jackson Boy and sister, Sophie Sue. She leaves her Mom, Dad and sister, Maggie Mae.
Hazel was a long hair miniature Dachshund. While she was the smallest in our pack at 7 pounds, she made herself known by having the loudest bark. Hazel loved to play hide and seek, as we would hide treats and she would sniff them out and eat them before her siblings found them. One of Hazel's favorite activities was to lay in the grass. She would roll over, wiggle and snuggle her nose down in it. Hazel was a quick learner. She learned as a puppy that when she wanted to go outside to potty, to ring the potty bell hanging at the back door. She did this consistently as need, but if she had to go really bad, she would paw it really hard so the bell could be clearly heard anywhere in the house.
Our precious Hazel was a loving, sweet and comforting little girl. She brought happiness into our home during a time when we needed it the most. She was a strong-willed little dog but, was very affectionate. She would lay in her Mom or Dad's lap and take long naps.
Hazel Marie, you were a special little dog with a big heart, giving us 16 years of love and happiness. You were our pride and joy and will never be forgotten. We love you and, you will forever be in our hearts.
