Charley Parker Saszi (Leibler)

d. March 7, 2018

I rescued sweet Charley in 2010 when he was 9 from a very abusive situation. I was volunteering at an animal rescue and someone brought him to one of our adoption events. He was unhealthy, very dirty, and had cuts and burns all over his little body. When anyone got close to his crate, he would snarl and bare his teeth, so no one was really interested in him. I decided to give him a chance, and reached in and picked him up. As soon as I got him out of the crate and held him close, he completely relaxed. I knew I had to take him home. Charley lived and traveled with me all over the East Coast for 8 years until we finally settled down with his younger but bigger brother Diesel, my husband Adam, and Adam's service dog, Leo in Memphis, TN. Though Charley never completely trusted people and could be a curmudgeon, he did become a sweet, loving dog in his golden years. He followed me everywhere and was my fierce protector. I loved him dearly and will miss him forever. Rest in Peace, sweet soul.
